Have you ever wondered who tracks and analyzes the data about organ transplant?  We invite you to come learn with us and two leading members of the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR).  In plain talk that everyone can understand, our expert presenters will explain what data is collected, how that data is used to improve transplant outcomes, and how it can help you to make informed decisions about your transplant care. There are some really exciting aspects to the SRTR website!  Be sure to register so you can get all of your questions answered.

This Transplant Talk will feature Jon Snyder, PhD, the Director of Transplant Epidemiology for the Chronic Disease Research Group of the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute (HHRI) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He serves as the Director of the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients, a Statistical Editor for the American Journal of Transplantation, an Associate Editor of Transplantation, and he has co-authored more than 150 publications. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Community Health at the University of Minnesota.

Joining Mr. Snyder will be Dr. Valapour, the Director of Lung Transplant Outcomes at the Cleveland Clinic.  A practicing pulmonologist and physician-scientist, she has worked in the field of lung transplantation for 22 years, contributing extensive clinical and research expertise to the field.  In addition to her role at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Valapour holds the singular role of Senior Staff for Lung Transplantation at the U.S. Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), where she oversees analysis of U.S. lung transplant data and refinement of the lung allocation system. She also acts as scientific advisor to the U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Lung Committee.
